FROM THE VENERABLE MASTER …

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

Let me say thanks for electing me the position of Venerable

Master. Thanks also for a great Spring Reunion. For those who

were not able to make it, you missed a great reunion. The work was

some of the best preformed and the fellowship was outstanding.

For those of you that have not participated for a while let me

suggest that you try to attend our meetings each month also try to

make the reunion. There is more that a part on a degree team,

there is the fellowship with each other as Masons and friends. Each

of us have some little hidden trait, so please come and help us and

put that trait to work for the Scottish Rite. Tell everyone in your Blue

Lodge about us and encourage them to be part of our group.

Always carry a petition with you. See you at the next meeting.

Fraternally, Jim Hood, 33°, V.M.

FLAG DAY Celebration

Friday, May 22nd, 2009

The Flag Day Celebration held 10:00 am, June 13, 2009, in beautiful Madison Square was an outstanding affair and ably administered by Bro. Morris L. Broussard, 33°. This was his twentieth (20) time, so he should have it down pat. Color Guards, bagpipes, ladies dancing in flag costume and patriotic songs all factored into a glorious tribute to “Old Glory.” The customary “Toast to the Flag” recited by Clyde E. Griffin, 33°, words of encouragement from Pete Liakakis, Chairman of County County Commissioners, and an outstanding keynote address by Congressman Jack Kingston rounded out the well attended event. Local TV and newspaper coverage was provided and several commented on seeing and reading about our program. Thanks extended to all participants and also to Charlie Depue for the ground covering, Mike Nichols for security, Bro. Jordan Fiore, 32° for sound, Ill. Jim Hood, 33° and crew for setup and tear down and Judy Griffin for refreshments.
